From a long life spent inside state institutions to an independent voice on parliament, governance, politics and communication — working at different levels, participating in processes and leading at the highest level; and now, from a relatively independent position, trying to observe, understand and speak about them.

A career in the Civil Service of Pakistan, culminating as Secretary Senate of Pakistan — the highest level of parliamentary administration leadership — alongside international assignments with IFES/USAID and IPU–UNDP, and lectures and presentations in different countries and forums.

Education in Pakistan and the United Kingdom complemented by advanced professional programmes at Harvard Kennedy School, McGill, Tulane and Georgetown, along with doctoral-level work in Governance at Maastricht. Now focused on the Legislative Studies Center, Lahore Governance Forum, AP Parleys and Legisphere — and the book “Lamhon Ka Bayan — Scattered Leaves from a Life.”
